Blue founded the Auzzura Performance Co. to provide workshops to businesses, under served communities, non for profit organizations, schools and social groups of all kinds. Her classes are also offered at The Berkeley Rep School of Theater.
Erica Blue attend Sarah Lawrence College to study dance, theater and psychology and grad school at Wesleyan University she studied Performance Art. After graduation she lived in Europe for 5 years. While there she co-founded The Raw Material Performance Ensemble and worked with various theaters as performer and producer. Her travels took her further to study dance in Southern Asia and the Himalayas. Once back in the states she landed in Oakland and began her work at Fairyland as the Children’s Theater director where she created a multi-ethnic company of young actors and developed their very popular summer camp program. Her own work as a performer and curator was launched that same year at the Studio For… Showcase where she was able to both perform and produce other artists work.
During the late 90’s .COM boom she used her production skills to work with several companies in Sales, B&D, PR, one stint included a boutique a VC firm where she coordinated Events. Her experience working along side of some of the tech worlds most innovative entrepreneurs gave her insite into the mind of success driven men and women. It was the beginning of the Fun/Work era and egos were as inflated as the market. The instability of the top down structure caused the bubble to burst and the fun was drained out of the tech world model along with jobs. She left the tech space to raise her children, and brought her skills back to the community.
She has returned to her first love Theater and Dance and hopes to bring that joy to the business world and particularly to the small businesses of her community.
Ultimately her goal is to share the beautiful complexities of the human experience through art and to empower each of us to express our struggles and successes with their own artistic language.
Please join her for her next series of Performance Workshops
